| Rates
of Hi-Ag® application varies between agricultural, viticultural
and horticultural enterprises. The effectiveness of gypsum on soils as
an ameliorate depends on the exchangeable sodium percentage (ESP). A
laboratory soil test reading above 5% E.S.P. will indicate an
improvement of soil structure using Hi-Ag®. Spreading via a belt feed spreader ensures even distribution at recommended rates. Rates depend on various factors such as soil type, cultivar to be grown, whether Hi-Ag® is used for a nutrient supply or for repairing sodic soils. One tonne of Hi-Ag® supplies 211kg of Calcium (Ca) and 168kg of Sulphur (S). |

Gypsum Products Australia (PGP) has developed the Hi-Ag® particle
size to supply residual effects from larger particle sizes (up to 3.2mm)
and smaller particle sizes to give rapid response of sulphur and
calcium. This can only be done by milling rock gypsum. PGP quality
assurance programme guarantees consistency of product. |
